England and Grandma

We arrived in London on Tuesday. We are staying with Lawrence and Diana for a week at their cute townhouse on the Isle of Dogs (a little peninsula on the Thames river just east of the Tower of London).

On Wednesday we went to see Grandma (great grandma for the kids but we all call her Grandma!). It was an easy drive and we even had time to drive through Great Warley where I grew up, so I could see my old house and school and do some reminiscing!

The post office in the village of Great Warley (meaningful because Grandma commissioned a painting of it for me which is hanging in my bedroom)

Lunch with Grandma. The children exhibited perfect Victorian table manners in between animal impressions.

Grandma chats with Hanna. They all got along so well, I felt like we could come and do this every week!

Family photo with Grandma in her garden. Everything was in bloom and the sun even came out for a few minutes between rain showers!

Hanna and Lenny finally cornered Grandma's cat, Ferdy to give him some love. Maybe he just gave up.

Both kids fell asleep in the car on the way home. Hanna woke up, walked to the couch and fell back asleep.

Then Robert kindly babysat while Diana went to a spinning class and Lawrence and I went out to a nice dinner!  It was great to catch up and hear about his new job at BP which sounds like a great fit.
